Water Regulations Training
The Water Supply Regulations have been in force in the United Kingdom to prevent waste misuse, undue consumption, contamination or erroneous measurement of drinking water.
This is a one day course which does not require candidates to engage in any prior study.
Upon successful completion, candidates will:
- Be familiar with the contents of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) regulations 1999
- Understand what the regulations mean and recognise their role in preventing waste, misuse, undue consumption, contamination and erroneous measurement of water.
- Know how to comply with the regulations in practice
- Carry out risk assessments on existing water systems
Benefits
- Approved contractors do not need to notify certain installations to the water company/local authority
- Water companies compile a list of approved operatives and contractors which the general public can use
- A large number of local authorities and housing associations will insist that operatives are approved
- Approved operatives are permitted to self-certify their work, reducing the need for constant monitoring by water inspectors
